TBR Jar

Okay, I have decided to do another prompt, hopefully per month. I have sooo many books on the TBR pile, and I think this is a good way to make sure I eventually get through them all. I found about this through Shelfari, but I got more information about it from Books and Sensibility, though the original idea came from Alex in Leeds

Basically, you can just get any old jar (I'm sure I've got a mason jar around here someplace), decorate it if you want, write down the titles of books on your TBR pile, toss it in, shake it up, and pick when you're low on books to read.

I never seem to have that problem, so I'm really only using this for books I've been meaning to read for a very very long time, and never seem to get to. So I plan to pick one title per month, as I way to get myself reading again. I've been in a rather long reading slump... I will probably exclude newer books or books I've already started, or even longer series. So for now, it will just be books that I've been meaning to read but haven't had any urging to do so... Here's just a few of the titles I plan to toss in!

The City of Bone
Scarlet
Everbound
Small Steps
The Subtle Knife
Insurgent
Seraphina
Scorpio Races
Eclipse
A Casual Vacancy
The Great Gatsby
Ender's Game
Dance of the Red Death
Life of Pi
Nightfall
Blue Bloods
The Body Finder
Finnikin of the Rock
Soulless
Prince of Thorns
The Power of Six
Rebel Heart

...and a lot more! Wish me luck! :)

  1. Good luck!
Glad you are doing this. I finally(actually) read the book I picked from my jar this month. And guess what? I enjoyed it so much that I immediately went and got the second book and read that one right away. Lol.

    1. Thanks!
I've been meaning to do it ever since I saw it mentioned on Shelfari, and also on your blog. It should help me get through my large pile of books I've been meaning to read for yeeeeeears! xD That's good to hear. I'll probably start with it next month...
